Winter Heritage Festival

 The festival is a celebration of  human history and cultural traditions. The kickoff is Thursday Feb 2nd, 2012 at the Thompson-Brown House Museum with storytelling, refreshments and access to a new exhibit on the Civil War as Blount County celebrates the Civil War Sesquicentennial.  Friday, Saturday, and Sunday have events going on all day long through out the Tuckleechee Valley at Cades Cove, the Townsend Visitor Center, the Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center, Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont, and the Little River Railroad and Lumber Company Museum.  For information call the Townsend Visitor Center at 800-525-6834.
